The
JERUSALEM SCHOOL OF CANTORIAL ART & MUSIC
(JESCAM) was founded in 1994 by Dr. David Weintraub,
well-known specialist in the training of Hazzanim, former
Senior Faculty, Bar Ilan University and instructor at Yeshivah
University’s Cantorial Training Institute, New York, in Voice,
Music and Cantorial disciplines. Dr.
Weintraub has held prestigious Hazzanut pulpits in the USA and
in Israel Many of Dr. Weintraub's students hold
cantorial positions world wide.
Jescam
aims to transmit authentic Nussach to Baalei Tefilah and
Hazzanim. They also learn to develop their voice and their
cantorial presentation. Sight singing and basic musicianship
are included in the program as well. They are then prepared to
assume pulpits worldwide.
Successful completion of our
courses leads to the diploma. The school also welcomes those
who wish to improve their voice and presentation without
necessarily working for a diploma.
Language of
instruction is English and / or Hebrew.
2 Study tracks are
available to you:
1. Small group sessions - up to 6
participants. 2. Individual, intensive one on one
instruction.
